Dessert Pizza 4-ways

It all started one day when I found these Sixlets on sale at CVS.  I bought 5 bags for $2.00! Oh happy days :)   Been using them on everything ever since including english muffins in the mornings.  Don’t know what a Sixlet is?  A tiny ball of chocolate with a candy coating.  Kind’a like an M & M but the chocolate has a somewhat waxy taste.  Sounds awful but they are tasty.  Then I had an idea……….. See that is the thing,  as a food blogger we are suppose to come up with new ways to be creative.  And there it was, Sixlets dessert pizza. 

OK I got a little carried away with this whole dessert pizza thing.  I originally started off with the Nutella Sixlets flavor and it got spinning out of control from there.  I couldn’t stop thinking of flavors.   Help I have dessert pizza on the brain.  Next I’ll be using puff pastry and cookie dough for the crust.  To be continued…..

I thought the kids would enjoy making these.  I bought already prepared dough that I found at Whole Foods.  Go ahead make your own dough from scratch if you want.

 
 
DULCE DE LECHE WITH SIXLETS
INGREDIENTS
pizza dough ready to be baked
Sixlets or other candy to sprinkle on top
Dulce de leche recipe below
 
DIRECTIONS
  1. Lightly flour the pizza dough and table to roll out the dough.
  2. Roll the dough to the desired thinkness.
  3. Bake as directed on package.
  4. Prepare the dulce de leche recipe below.
  5. Once the crust has cooled spread a thick layer of dulce de leche.
  6. Sprinkle with sixlets.
DULCE DE LECHE
1 14 oz can of condensed milk
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons maple syrup
 
DIRECTIONS
  1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan, and heat on med-low for about 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
  2. DO NOT let it boil.
  3. Stir until it thickens and turns golden.
  4. Remove from heat and cool for about 20 minutes.
  5. Let cool.
 
APPLE STREUSEL WITH MARSCARPONE CHEESE
INGREDIENTS
ready to bake pizza dough
1/4 c mascarpone cheese
1/4 cup white chocolate chips chocolate chips
1  large Granny Smith appples, peeled, cored, and thinnly sliced
Streusel recipe below
  1. Prepare the streusel recipe below and set aside.
  2. Lightly flour the pizza dough and table to roll out the dough.
  3. Spread the mascarpone cheese over the top of the dough.
  4. Neatly arrange a leyer of apple slices on top.
  5. Next sprinkle the white chocolate chips over the top.
  6. Spread the streusel on top.
  7. Bake at 400 degrees for 18 to 20 minutes.

Streusel

1/2 cup packed brown sugar
3 tablespons all purpose flour
2 tablespoons cold butter
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup chopped pecans
  1. In in small bowl mix with a fork the flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  2. Cut in butter to the sugar and flour  until crumbly and mixed.
  3. Next mix in pecans.
 
NUTELLA WITH CHOCOLATE CHIPS AND SIXLETS
INGREDIENTS
pizza dough ready to bake
1/2 cup Nutella
1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
Sixlets to sprinkle on top
  1. Lightly flour the pizza dough and table to roll out the dough.
  2. Roll the dough to the desired thinkness.
  3. Bake as directed on package.
  4. Let cool completely
  5. Spread with Nutella.
  6. Sprinkle with chocolate chips.
  7. Sprinkle with Sixlets. 
 
 WHITE CHOCOLATE APPLE WITH DULCE DE LECHE

INGREDIENTS

ready to bake pizza dough
1/4 c mascarpone cheese
1/4 cup white chocolate chips chocolate chips
1 large Granny Smith appples, peeled, cored, and thinnly sliced

  5. Neatly arrange a leyer of apple slices on top.
  6. Next sprinkle the white chocolate chips over the top.
  7. Bake at 400 degrees for 18 to 20 minutes.

I have to say, when you get carried away you do so in such a deliciously tempting fashion!
