HELLO SUMMER!!!
When I had the cupcake shop these little beauties were used as party favors and for the dessert tables we made. Now that the shop is no longer, it is time to share the how-to again. Make them ahead of time and store in a cool place for a couple of days if need be.
When I put these up on facebook I realized that some of you might think they are cupcakes baked in ice cream cones. Actually they are cake bites on mini ice cream cones. I found the mini cones one day at Lucky supermarket and I have seen cones elsewhere at different stores so I know they are out there.
As I explain in the video, the hardest part about making these is having the finished cake bites to attach to the cone . You can watch the video on how I make cake bites here .
List of items you’ll need: 12-Cake bites (finished) 12-mini ice cream cones 4 oz. M & M candies (optional) and more if you are gong to fill the cones 4 oz. of melted chocolate in the same flavor as the finished cake bites so they will match
Note: I use the microwave for melting chocolate but I go real slow heating a little bit and then stirring. You can use the double boiler method which ever is easiest for you. The chocolate does not have to be very hot. Just warm enough so that it is smooth and you can stir it.
Just dip the finished cake bite in the melted chocolate to coat the bottom only. Place cake bite on the mini ice cream cone to set.
If you want to have fun add M & M candies to the cone before you attach the cake bite. Once the cake bite has dried on top of the cone I attach an M & M to the top. Again just add a little melted chocolate to the top and place on the candy.
That’s it. The possibilities are endless……………….
