Actually this is a post about the ever so charming Les Glaceurs Bakery in Montreal, Canada.
However let me begin by saying this post is also about drinking, my son turns 21 today. Will has hit that drinking milestone, and my daughter took a road trip up to Canada last week for Spring Break (always a mother’s nightmare) where the drinking age is 18. Oh joy!:(

Will at 16
While Will is hosting a beer pong tournament today, I’m writing about Jewels (18) and her adventures in Montreal. I’m positive the attraction for her to head for Canada during spring break was the booze. It just so happened she found a cute little cupcake shop in between bar hopping. Thank god I’ve been spared the juicy details of their escapades, but I can tell you about Les Glaceurs.
I totally trust Jewels when it comes to reviewing cupcake shops. She not only baked at our shop, she was a major contributor with the design and flavor offerings. So when she explained that it was uber cute, trust me it was! I’m told the cupcakes were soft and moist with good flavor. Jewels had the Banana Nut and Alleia had Vanilla with Salted Caramel. They offer ice cream as well as macaroons. You can also find adorable trinkets for purchase.
She will probably kill me for this, but here is the text straight from the kid:
“Hey mom! so when i was in Montreal, we went to this really cute cupcake and ice cream shop. it was called “Le Glaceurs” it was in french but they had awesome cupcakes. their website is http://www.lesglaceurs.ca/ i’m sure you can translate it. i have pictures on my phone of me and my friends eating the cupcakes. just in case you wanted to know!
no pics of me! it was on my own phone. That is Alleia she is from Wisconsin. Emma, another girl we were with who is not in the pictures got chocolate chocolate chip ice cream.”
I’ve never been to Montreal but I have it on my list along with a 1,000 other places I need to see!
My little guys last summer at my cousin’s wedding! Awwwwwwwh……..
Have fun but BE SAFE! This is your mom talking here……………………

Ha! What a great post! I never would have thought that my country to be a tourist attraction for Spring Breakers, especially when it is normally still so chilly here. However, when you remind me that the legal drinking age is 18 in Montreal…then it does make sense. In my province of Ontario the age is 19. The pictures of your son and daughter and of her friend are all lovely as it the interior of the cupcake shop. Hope she got home safe and sound and enjoyed Montreal :0
Paula she loved Montreal! It’s been such a mild winter so I don’t think the cold is an issue, yet. Thanks yes she is safe back at school.
