Bunny Ear Cupcakes
I would like to say that I created these clever little cupcakes. However that is far from the truth. One of the teenage workers from the bake shop (Chloe) came to me one day with the design. This is exactly what I miss about having the bake shop. All the creative energy that was oozing out. Some people would say having teenagers is extremely annoying. At times, this can be an absolute true statement. My daughter would drive me nuts by hopping into my car and begin to school me on how to drive!!! Of course I wanted to throttle her. But wait, I’ve been driving for almost 40 years. How is it possible that I have made it this far??? Shear luck I guess.
Don’t get me wrong I really do love teenagers. My two are currently reaching adulthood, the mean and nasty stage is virtually non-existent. The teens I had at my shop working were totally inventive. I would cut them loose on just about any project. Sometimes it was messy, although well worth it. The net results were amazing, just like this bunny eared cupcake.
To decorate these cupcakes you’ll need sprinkles the color of grass. For the ears use pink and white fondant. Watch this video if you’d like to see how I use an ice cream scoop to frost and then roll the cupcakes in the sprinkles.
Roll out the fondant and cut either by hand or with a cutter in the shape of a big tear drop. Press the pink smaller shape on top of the bigger white shape. You must let them dry completely or they won’t stand up straight. Come to think about it, having one ear droop would be cute. After you sprinkle the cupcakes just poke the ears into the frosting mound. I also had a reader mention that a little tail would be nice!
Thank you to Chloe who is now off to college!!! Miss you and keep baking!!!
So you see, teenagers really can be wonderful
Just incase you were wondering I added this post to Tidy Mom’s link party.
