In downtown Milwaukee they have redeveloped an area called the 3rd Ward. It is gentrified and a lovely place to wander about. They have an indoor fish market fashioned after the famous Seattle fish market. You’ll find charming boutiques and fine restaurants. Among the shops I discovered Milwaukee Cupcake Co.
The regular cupcakes were only $2.50 and minis $1.25. They did have some other goodies like whoopie pies and cookies but they are a cupcake shop for certain. The staff was friendly and there is a seating area. I thought they were pretty unique in the decorating. I had the S’more cupcake that had a ganache filling. Check out the toasted marshmallow which had to have been done before it got placed on the cupcakes. And just a piece of gram cracker, how sweet. The cake was packed with flavor and just the right size.
Who doesn’t like a face on their whoopie pie? I know I do……………………………………………Again moist patty and the buttercream filling was not too sweet.

Awesome! I’m from just south of there in Racine, so the next time I’m up that way I will stop in there. I loved growing up in Racine it was setted by the Danish and we laughed that we had a bakery on every corner! Such great memories of having such special birthday cakes from the bakeries every year!!
Patty you should it’s a cute place kind a hidden upstairs but they have a sandwich board out front with their name.
I love the interior of this shop and at $2.50 for a regular cupcake you are getting a delicious bargain.
