The poster for this event was created by Jessie Oleson at Cakespy.
Not sure on the exact head count, must have been close to 800 people.
The cupcake girls were there in force. Cupcakes for Cancer was started by 14 year old Blakely Colvin. They raised thousands of dollars this year.
There was even a beauty queen from Ventura present.
The baking contest entires.
Wait you’ve never been to a cupcake camp? Well it’s cupcake mayhem. Bakers in the area make cupcakes that are then sold by donation to the attendees. It’s a great way to get your name out there if you are just starting out. Or you can just make cupcakes for the cause. They have raffles, baking contests, people selling cupcake stuff, fashion shows, face painting and crafts, and cupcakes everywhere. It really is a spectacle, kids of all ages juiced up on sugar! It is also a good place to gather ideas or inspiration. The best part for me, eating cupcakes as always…………………………………….
It never ceases to amaze me just how many people love cupcakes.
Mothers and daughters baking together.
Fudge sliders and fries (cookies)!
My picks were lemon cake with llemon cream cheese, mexican hot chocolate, peach cupcake with caramel buttercream topped with crunch, and a black bottom. Wonderful variety.
See you next year Santa Barbara
