Once upon a time I bulldozed our family house. Nothing left but mud and dirt. It had a small foundation problem so in my infinite wisdom I decided to build a new fortress. From the outside it looked like any new house in middle america. I had big design ideas but the planning department denied me. We want your house to fit in, not stick out they demanded. Fine but they couldn’t tell me what to do on the inside, so there. I proceeded to build the house accordingly. When it came to the inside I painted every wall in that house every bright color you could imagine. Now I love all colors and so does my daughter however young master Will specified that his room was to be plain white. No color for him thanks. One day Will came to me and said, “Mom our house looks like a circus”. I replied, “And your point?”. We had a standing joke that one day when he was away at school or staying at a friend’s house I would sneak in and paint his room. I did try to honor his request but I just couldn’t stand it. Those white walls kept gnawing at me like a ravenous mosquito in your bedroom at 1am. Every time I entered his room those walls would call out, “paint me”. I had been plotting my design for months. Then one weekend when Will was on a camping trip with the boys scouts I did it………………………………………………………
I don’t regret doing it. I think in the end young master Will liked what I did:) I added the image of him later when I had more time. If you know young master Will you know he wore his football sweatshirt 24/7. Doesn’t it look just like him?
