Thursday night in San Francisco just off the Haight. Twelve trucks, live music, and wall to wall food. I take my eat’n buddy Willmeister for back up. We both love to eat and people watch, great combo. This is one of my favorite food pods with random trucks no theme. The organizer is Matt Cohen from Off The Grid, genius. So far he has six different pods throughout the city on different days. Some pods have food themes like Asian or Cuban. To encourage new vendors he has built a food truck you can rent for the day! Any ideas for what you’d offer. I think they are missing a treats trucks:) You knew I was going there right? Could be my new venture…….
- Truck round up
- Curbside trailer
- Ahi Tuna slider was amazing!
- Sweet potato fries and barbecued pork bun
- Chairman Bao baked bun with pork and cabbage
- Notorious P.I.G.- cuban on a rosemary waffle
- Mac and cheese spring roll w/ fondue
- Chicken fried in corn flakes slider
- Historic
- Victorian houses line the streets
- The Haight
- Tripp’n
You must get to one of these food truck events. The choices are bountiful and the prices are not ridiculous for what you are getting. Many of the operators are professional and famous chefs. Some of the vendors have gone on to open brick and mortar restaurants. The people are friendly and it’s down right fun!
